COMMUNITY SERVICES HELPFUL LINKS Harbor Village residents have access to various programs and
services in the community. The following are just some of the resources
available.
Win Work Source Investment Network:The WorkSource Center offers a variety of job seeking resources to help with employment search. Services include workshops; use of equipment such as computers, fax, copiers, and phones; access to resources: books, videos, software, etc.; and information about community resources and local organizations. Boys & Girls Club:The Boys and Girls Club of the South Bay is a community based youth development organization working to help boys and girls discover and achieve their full potential by providing positive growth activities in a fun, safe, supervised environment. The organization’s Boys and Girls Club of Harbor City Unit was initially located in the Social Hall of the Normont Terrace Housing Project Development, where the Club served the children of the community for almost seven years. The Club is now located just blocks away in a new facility that offers both youth development and family literacy programs. Volunteers of America: The Volunteers of America of Los Angeles is a national human services organization dedicated to providing services to those in poverty. Since 1965, the Children’s Services Division has offered a variety of high quality early childhood education and development programs to low-income families with infants, toddlers and young children. The division provides General Child Care, Early Head Start and Head Start and State Preschool programs. |
